AG Real Estate

Since its inception in 1824, Fortis AG (initially 'Assurances Générales' (AG), and later called 'AG 1824' until 1999) has continuously invested in real estate in order to diversify its assets as part of the asset and liability management. These investments have always been managed by a department specialised in real estate. Within the framework of the development of the real estate activities of Fortis AG, which have been growing steadily since 1990, the Fortis AG real estate team has increased in 2000 from 50 to 120 staff members, combining the forces and expertise of all the real estate teams belonging to the operational companies of Fortis in Belgium. This extended team then acquired the name 'Fortis Real Estate' : Real Estate Asset Manager for Fortis in Belgium. On July 12, 2002, a new spectacular development occurred for Fortis Real Estate : the acquisition of the Bernheim-Comofi group. This strategic reinforcement responded to necessary diversification criteria in terms of customers, products and geographical location. On October 1, 2003, the teams of Bernheim-Comofi and Fortis Real Estate integrated their activities by setting up Fortis Real Estate S.A., a limited liability company 100% subsidiary of Fortis AG. This subsidiarization and integration thus gave rise to the leading real estate group in Belgium and resulted in enhanced customer service, within and beyond Fortis, by offering the most extensive range of real estate services available on the Belgian market. During the first half of 2005, Bernheim-Comofi's integration within Fortis Real Estate was finalised by giving the last Bernheim companies the Fortis Real Estate label: •On March 31, 2005, Bernheim Real Estate Development S.A. was renamed Fortis Real Estate Development S.A. •On April 15, 2005, Bernheim Asset Management S.A. was renamed Fortis Real Estate Asset Management S.A. and Bernheim-Comofi S.A. was simply renamed Fortis Real Estate S.A. •On June 30 2005, the Property Management activities of Fortis Real Estate were regrouped giving birth to a new Fortis Real Estate Property Managment S.A., result of the merger between Sogepro S.A. and Fortis Real Estate Property Management S.A.. On July 1, 2006, the merger between Fortis AG and Fortis Bank Insurances gave birth to Fortis Insurance Belgium, since then mothercompany of Fortis Real Estate. On June 22, 2009, Fortis Insurance Belgium changed her name into AG Insurance. On September 21, 2010, Fortis Real Estate becomes AG Real Estate.
